This was a free show sponsored by Bud Light. Before the doors even opened,
there had already been 1,700 tickets printed from the website. The capacity
at Nellies is roughly 1,200 including the upstairs. They had to start turning
people away at the door as it was a first-come, first-serve show. The band
took the stage at roughly 11:10pm and the floor was completely packed. I had
a bunch of friends helping me near my stand and we made room and hoisted it
up in the middle of the crowd. The stand got bumped a lot but you can not
tell on the recording. The right channel was amplified 1.5% as it appeared to
be noticeably lower than the left.
I also recorded the soundcheck earlier in the evening using a different
lineage. This was not done with a mic stand. I clipped the mics to my shirt
DFC with my back leaning against the bar. I got to pick the song, so I chose
something they have not been playing as of late, "Freeze Dried (F)lies".
